Is absolute encoder available together with SMC75 ?
|
No and yes ( from firmware ver. 2.4) !
Before firmware ver. 2.4:
The Quickstep can be delivered with an internal encoder for correction of the position after each move.
We can deliver the QuickStep H2 version with a magnetic encoder built in.
A magnet with north and south pole is mounted on the rear end of the shaft
and a special chip mounted on the PCB measures the position.
It has got 256 counts for one revolution and 2 channels so totally
you have 1024 counts.
We can measure the absolute position within 1 revolution but not multiturn.
When the motor is powered up you can get the information where you are on
1 revolution but not how many revolutions the motor has turned without power connected.
If the 24V CVI voltage is kept on the controller and thereby supplying
the encoder circuit you can hold the position forever.
From firmware ver. 2.4:
From firmware version 2.4 it's also possible to save the multiturn absolute position as long as the motor is moved less than +/-180° while the motor is without power
When power is disconnected or an input is activated we can save position in flash memory and when it wakes up again the position will be valid if the motor hasn't moved while it's been off.
